- New admissions are taken in Nursery Class. Other admissions if any will depend on the availability of seats and the competence of the student at the admission test/ interview.
- Management reserves the right to decide on what condition they will admit or retain pupils in their Institution.
- At the time of admission, the Original Birth Certificate from the municipality / corporation along with the photocopy should be produced. Catholic students must also produce a Baptism Certificate. The date of birth once registered will not be altered.
- Guardians are asked to fill in the admission form with the utmost accuracy. No subsequent changes will be permitted.
- The School authorities will examine the new applicants and place them in the class they are found fit for.
- Pupils coming from a recognized school are required to bring a leaving certificate from the school last attended and also the Mark Sheet of the last Annual examination. Transfer Certificate from a school outside Darjeeling District must be countersigned by the education officer of the District concerned.
- New pupils must be introduced to the Principal by their parents or guardians who will be responsible for their regularity, conduct and fees.
- Before withdrawing a student from the school, a month’s notice is to be given or a month’s fee in lieu of notice.
- No Transfer Certificate will be issued until all dues to the school have been paid in full and that too only on the receipt of written application from the parents or guardians.
- Any Certificate from the school will cost Rs. 20/-. A search fee for the Transfer Certificate will be charged Rs.50/-.
- Any student failing two years in succession in the same class or failing twice in three consecutive years, will have his name struck off the rolls and a Transfer Certificate will be granted. A student who has been dismissed from the school is not re-admitted. A student, who has taken T C, except in the case of transfer of residence, will not be re-admitted to the school.
- The Principal’s decision is final in all cases of dismissal or withdrawal.
Absence and Leave
- No pupils should absent herself/himself without obtaining leave previously, unless it is a sick leave.
- Pupils must return after the holidays on the appointed date. In case of sickness, the school Authority must be notified and a doctor’s certificate must be produced. Late comers are liable to lose their seats.
- Leave must be obtained by the written application from Parents or Guardians in the prescribed ‘Leave Record’.
- To be admitted to the class-room, those who have been absent must show their Teacher their ‘Regularity Record’ duly signed by the Sister-in-charge. Parents / Guardians should give a prior intimation to the school on the 3rd day of their ward’s absence if she/he is likely to be absent for a longer period.
- If an unauthorized absence from school exceeds 15 calendar days, the student’s name may be struck off the roll and she/he may not be admitted to the school. However the parents can seek for re-admittance if the student intends to join the classes.
- Students who have been absent from class must have a valid reason for their absence briefly noted in their regularity record. Reasons of a private nature may be intimated by a letter. Birthday, outings, excursion, festivals, urgent business is not sufficient reasons. Absence from the school in order to study is never allowed.
- An absence due to illness or other reasons just for two days only must be entered in the Regularity Record under “Absent” duly signed by one of the parents. An absence due to illness for more than two days besides being entered in the Regularity Record must be accompanied by a doctor’s prescription.
- Early Departure is availed when there is an emergency at home or when a student gets sick in the school. It is not granted to those who come sick from home.
- Those who return to school after absenting themselves without leave shall not enter the class without the sanction of the Principal and without a few lines from the parents on the ‘Absence Record’ stating the exact reasons for absence. The School disclaims all responsibility if through failure to produce this; a pupil is obliged to return home during school hours.
- Pupils must be present on the opening and closing days of each term. (Summer, Puja & Winter Vacations)
